Harbor Mobile School Design Guide
Harbor is a preschool that offers hands on learning with a special mixture of STEM and the arts.
Here children can come to learn about the ocean and marine conservation, and they’ll have fun doing it too!
This converted school bus will act as a safe space and temporary summer school for underprivileged children in low income, urban neighborhoods in the Chicago Metropolitan Area, providing a place to learn and explore the world, hence the name “Harbor,” which is synonymous with coming to safety.
Placement is available through a lottery for small groups of 8–10
4 year old preschoolers.
The school offers a wide selection of STEM experiments and educational crafts that will teach students to use their hands and encourage them to explore science in a way that is fun and interesting to them. Parents and children alike love the ambiance of going on an underwater adventure.
These children will have a jump start when it comes to pre-school in the fall, however having spent the summer learning at Harbor, they will be learning all the time not just standard life skills, but also about the environment in order to raise a generation of environmentally aware, and brilliant minds.
